Finally Got them

Posted by: admin   in Wild Life

I finally managed to be in the right place at the right time and with my camera at hand.  We had managed to get photographs for each visit for last 3 years.   This year I had not seen them myself though they have stayed around our farm the longest.  This afternoon I was told the elephants were around and I ran out to get these gorgeous photos. This time there were 6 of them.   2 adult females and 4 calves.

Wow! Lucky you. How close did you get to them? Were they on your land? Did they stay long? Did they destroy anything?

Check out the later posts after this for the full story. They did quite a bit of damage. They uprooted 15 lengths of our water line and tossed the pipes here and there. And these are big 6 inch diameter metal pipes. They pulled out my solar water heater connection and broke our electric fence. They destroyed a bunch of trees but not on our land. And I heard the last elephant to go picked up a man with his trunk and tossed him on the ground. He did not die.

They do seem to have done a lot of damage… But at the same time when one looks at these picture one can’t help thinking that are such beautiful and amazingly magnificent animals 🙂
