Long-tailed Shrike.

   Posted by: admin   in Birds

There is this dead tree opposite our farmhouse that has proved to be a great spot for getting good photos of small birds. The birds stand out very clearly as there are no leaves. Also it is outside my window and I can run out with a camera at a moments notice. Here I managed to get a long-tailed shrike in a pretty good pose.

Thanks Leslie. I too was surprised by the clarity of the photo. I have used a Canon Powershot S3IS which is not an SLR camera. Got lucky I guess ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi mansoor, u know the shrikes have a habit of sitting on thorny shrubs, so that they can nail in their catch on to the thorns & then devours its meal…….. that will be a great snap ! My 12 year old has a great eye for birds, he was the the one who id the Pied Bush Chat, with just one look, you can see his photographs & painting etc @ http://dreamsandimaginations.blogspot.com/

Wow Arjunan,
I visited your son’s blog and the photos of the birds are excellent. Will read up more there soon. Thanks to him for identifying the Pied Bush Chat. Will rely a lot on him in the future too ๐Ÿ™‚
