In the 1930s and 1940s, decades after steam engines had made wind power obsolete, Dutch researchers obstinately kept improving the – already very sophisticated – traditional windmill. The results were spectacular, and there is no doubt that today an army of ecogeeks could improve them even further. Would it make sense to revive the industrial windmill and again convert kinetic energy directly into mechanical energy?

Any plans for PV solar at Acres Wild ?
The new panels look like traditional tiles.

Not yet Chris. Actually I have not taken the trouble to study it. Been focussing more on solar water heating and gobar gas so far for renewable energy. But it may be time now as panels are getting cheaper. Do post me any links or articles on latest tech in PV. Thanks.

Hi Mansoor, interesting article on windmills. I have been reading up on tidal energy and saw that India is getting really involved in it, hurrah!
