Conde Nast Traveller Article on Acres Wild

Acres Wild got featured in the April- May 2011 issue of Conde Nast Traveller.  Check the article on us under the section ‘Nilgiri Calling’.

Well being bucolic folk and all obviously we had never heard of Conde Nast Traveller.   Could hardly pronounce it actually :-).  But now we carry the issue around Coonoor Club and especially where other ‘Modern’ folk hangout.   What wine goes with smoked salmon you ask?   Heck will have to check with my friends up on Grey’s Hill 🙂

Outlook Traveller charmed with Coonoor

Lalitha Sridhar has written a pacy little write-up in Outlook Traveller and she certainly sounds like she is charmed with Coonoor.   We were pleased to be given a place of pride in the article.   Here is a clip.

“….People come to Coonoor, fall in love and never leave: the late Sam Maneckshaw, Nandan Nilekani, Gopalakrishna Gandhi, writer Ramachandra Guha and filmmaker Mansoor Khan among them. Khan arrived five years ago bought a stretch of tea plantation, turned it into a grassland in which to graze cows, learnt farming and cheese-making, and now offers farmstays …….”

Read the rest at Charmed with Coonoor by Lalitha Sridhar.

“Some goats, a cow and a labrador watch solemnly as we holler out for the Acres Wild people. Already well-known for the cheese they make, they have now opened up their farm to people who want to share their love for the good earth.”
