House and Land for Sale in Madhumalai

A friend of ours, Fay Vohra, from Coonoor is looking at selling an acre of land with a house, near Madhumalai game sanctuary at the foot of Nilgiri Hills.  You could call Fay directly at 94433-60720 and 93448-55964.

Here is what she has to say to describe it..............

“It is on one acre of land, fully fenced with 8ft electric, elephant-proof fencing. A small house, two bedrooms, one bathroom and a kitchen with a large open verandah looking out into the forest. At the moment our water supply is from the Animal Shelter next door. A bore well could be sunk if the present arrangement is not acceptable.

Next door there are some 200 rescued animals, dogs, racehorses, ponies, monkeys, goats, donkeys, cows etc etc. Only an animal lover and environmentalist would be happy it this little peaceful spot. There is a small river nearby and elephants come here to bathe. Lots of wild animals can be seen from the safety of the verandah.

It can be fully furnished. I have stored all the cane furniture and mattresses, linen and Kitchen gadgets, fridge, microwave, gas etc. It can be put back if needed.

The only draw back is the road - its okay 10 months of the year but needs a 4 X 4 during the monsoons. The advantage of the bad road is no other houses and no traffic, no people venture walking because of the animals so its really secluded.”
