Farm Activities Calendar
One of our prime activities on the farm is making homemade gourmet cheese also called artisan cheese.
If you are really serious you can take a Cheesemaking Course
Preparation of compost pile using principles of Bio-dynamic farming.
Viewing documentaries on Permaculture principles.
With a little planning we can organise a picnic at our Pondside Gazebo near Pond No 1.
Just pack a lunch and find a new exciting spot on our 22 acre farm. Under a shady mango tree, On a huge rock that looks down into Mettapalayam, in a quiet spot in the tea garden or a yet undiscovered part of Acres Wild.
Not as easy as it sounds. We can give you some basic fishing rods - a stick with a string and a hook with lots of worms. Try you luck vs that of the major carps on our pond.
Best done early morning or in the evening. Just walk around our farm and try and spot and identify as many birds as you can. Not a bad idea to have a binocular or a camera. If you click any new ones that we don't have photos of yet then you can add it to our collection on our website.
All good things from a cow, mixed in special proportions over many days to make a potion that is remedy for many evils of modern agriculture.
Yes this can come in handy for Peak Oil preparation. Boran, our cow-hand will help you get the basics. And once you get the hang of it.............. you can teach me!!!
The one single activity that we are going to almost make a religous practice here at Acres Wild. We have a well stocked nursery. Just go there and take a pick of saplings, decide where you want to plant them and plant it for the next generation.
The reward at the end of a true farmers day. Well luckily that does not happen so often here :-)
A simple thing that nature does all the time. But we have to get it right when we do it.
The second half of composting and a key aspect of rejuvenating our soil here.
............. and get chased by them.
.............. and get butted.
